A Thank You to the moon and back

I would like to say Thank You to all babies, (Not just my own who have obviously filled my heart with moonbeams and rainbow glitter.) Thank you for choosing to grace this Earth with your beautiful, pure energy. As you open your eyes for the first time we open ourselves to a love far greater than we ever imagined. In your presence I become the person I'd most like to be: One who chooses happiness & peace; one who deeply cares about the Earth you will walk on, the air that fills your precious little lungs and the water that you revel in. Because of you many mothers and fathers across our planet are standing up to governments & corporations who placed greed & dollars over the welfare of the lifeblood of our children and our Earth. All my gratitude to you and to Gaia. May we rise in worthiness to the gifts you both give. Thank you.

Spring always has me swooning

Each Spring awakens me from a winter hibernation spent away from my pet camera and replenishes my creative well with vigor & gaga.  Trees birthing their resplendent greenness, raindrops making blossoms shine, you all see it.  Perhaps I view it with such wide eyed wonder because the period between snow & spring is so brown and gray and depressingly ugly...  Last spring I began a list of 1000 things I love.  It turns out that most of those things are not bought with money, or part of well laid plans or "big" things.  Most of them have to do with the 2 glorious creatures pictured above. (#379: I love that 98% of the times Aria picks up a marker or crayon, she draws a heart.)
(#353: I love how perfectly Lucia's head fits in the crook of my neck & I melt as she nestles there.)
A lot of them are beautiful details & moments we tend to overlook in our hurriedness.
(#17: I love moonlight on water)
(#263: I love live music outdoors in the grass with children dancing all around.)
I can't say this list is making me a "better" person, that will take a lifetime, maybe more.  It is making me a more grateful & appreciative person, one moment at a time.

Tim & Dorene & Their Baby Bean!

There were little moments throughout this session where the beautiful, kind, caring Mother  ~  Dorene is already becoming ~ shown through, and I melted a little each time...  Growing life in our bodies, and growing as Mommies, and Daddies...  What words can I possibly say to capture the sacredness and the love?  With my beloved camera, I attempt each time to capture the light within and without..., and once in awhile the pure feeling shines through, and no words are necessary.

Boys Will Be Boys

I had so much fun chasing these two adorable boys around the park on Saturday morning!  They were full of "Spring" energy, running & exploring full tilt, and doing what little boys do best.  Jason & Janine patiently corraled, soothed, tickled & kept up with them while managing to look fantastic themselves!  These are some of my favorite moments from our session...

Flashback Time!

"It's not only children who grow.  Parents do too.  As much as we watch to see what our children do with their lives, they are watching us to see what we do with ours.  I can't tell my children to reach for the sun.  All I can do is reach for it, myself."
  ~Joyce Maynard
And how Aria has made me a better person!

My Beautiful Friend

One of my favorite quotes about friendship comes from the movie Chasing Amy:
"Even if we never talk again after tonight, please remember that I am forever changed by who you are and what you meant to me"

My Autumn Princess

5 year olds rock, I adore them and really enjoy talking with them.  I love how forthright, bright and curious they are as their world opens up in leaps and bounds.  I watch Aria with as much wonder now as I have since she was born, trying to bottle the moment in my memory knowing how quickly she's growing up.  Of course, with this growing up there are more and more moments of "sauciness" that give me a glimpse of what's to come, but I won't think about that now.  Having her hand to hold, listening to her create elaborate storylines while we play puppets, watching her sleep, loving books & forts & porches & house trucks together - it's all magic, magic, magic...  Now I have the challenge of choosing which photo of my radiant, happy angel I would like on our Holiday cards...  How do I choose?  Which one is your favorite?
